Minimum English Proficiency Requirements for MD Students

1.The English graduation requirements for daytime master's students in the Department of Manufacturing Science and Engineering are governed by the "Guidelines for Minimum English Proficiency Requirements for Graduation for Graduate Students of Day Division" established by the university.

2.For graduate students participating in various English proficiency tests and assessments, the validity of the results is within three years prior to enrollment (counting from August 1).

3.For master's students enrolling from the 2019 academic year onwards, if their English proficiency test results meet one of the following standards, they will have fulfilled the English graduation requirements:

(1) Pass the university's English proficiency graduation assessment with a grade of A or B.

Achieve a score of CEFR B1 or higher in an English test administered by an international or national authoritative organization (as shown in the diagram below).

4.If graduate students fail to meet the required English proficiency graduation standards, the following remedial measures apply:

For master's students in the Department of Manufacturing Science and Engineering who do not meet the above English proficiency graduation requirements, they may enroll in one of the university's "Professional Workplace English Bridging Program" courses during the course add/drop period as specified by the university. The passing grade for these courses is 70, and the credits do not count towards graduation requirements. To be considered as having met the English proficiency graduation standard, students must pass the course and provide proof of achieving a TOEIC score of 400 or higher, or a total score of 120 or higher in the listening and reading sections of the GEPT (General English Proficiency Test) Intermediate Level, or an equivalent language proficiency test.
