Online Academic Research Ethics Education Course

1. Starting from the 2019 academic year (inclusive), all students enrolled in the Master’s Program, In-Service Master’s Program, or Doctoral Program are required to complete the “Taiwan Academic Ethics Education Online Course” (https://ethics.moe.edu.tw/) by the end of their first academic year. The course is delivered online, and students must pass the course test and obtain the Certificate of Completion. Students who have not completed this course are not permitted to apply for their degree examination. 2. The Office of Academic Affairs will create student learning accounts after new student registration. The account username is the student ID number, and the default password is the last five digits of the student ID number. When logging in to the website for the first time, you must complete the “Account Verification” process. The system will send the verification link to your school email address (@ntut.edu.tw). Please log in to the “Taipei Tech Portal → Email” to complete the verification and proceed with account activation and related settings. 3. If you meet any of the following conditions, please prepare the relevant supporting documents and “Academic Research Ethics Education Course Waiver Request Form”, and submit them to your department (institute, college, or special program) to apply for exemption. The waiver will only be granted after it has been approved by the department (institute, college, or special program) chair. (1) The student may also choose to complete more than six hours, in aggregate, of courses related to academic research ethics education for graduate students on the Learning Platform before the semester starts, and shall submit the certificate of course completion after passing the final exam of the courses. (2) Enroll in and complete more than six hours, in aggregate, of courses related to academic research ethics education offered by the school or outside institutes, and obtain the certificate of passing.
