Bio
Dr. Huang received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1992. He has been appointed as a distinguished professor three times. From 2019 to 2023, he published 14 Q1 and Q2 level journal articles, all as the corresponding author. He has been granted over 150 domestic and international invention patents (including 16 in the United States, 2 in Japan, 1 in South Korea, 20 in China, and 5 in Europe). His U.S. patents are highly cited, with the highest citation count reaching 110. He currently has 15 patent applications in progress (including 5 in the United States and 6 in China), all of which are invention patents. He has successfully transferred and licensed multiple patents, generating over 15 million in revenue. Dr. Huang is the first recipient of the Outstanding Industry-Academia Cooperation Award from Taipei Tech since its inception in 2005. He founded two technology companies. The first, DongLiang, has a paid-in capital of 47.72 million NT and was approved for listing on the Emerging Stock Market in September 2023 with the stock code G7653, becoming the first AIOT preventive healthcare company in the country. The second company, Micro Nipple Technology, was sold to RichHealth (a subsidiary of MediaTek - Richtek Technology) on January 3, 2017, and currently has a paid-in capital of 88 million NT (with Bayer and Roche previously interested in acquiring a 51% stake).
